2017 Summer Boys Grades 3-7 Travel Season

Marin: Starts June 12

ENDORSED BY OVER 30 NORTH BAY VARSITY BOYS COACHES

Overview

North Bay Basketball Academy is committed to providing competitive Club opportunities to all athletes interested in improving their skills at the conclusion of their CYO or High School seasons. NBBA will offer a dual team structure, NBBA Select and NBBA Club, at each grade level.

Registration:

  • The registration period is open through June 8, 2017 on the NBBA website.
  • EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT AVAILABLE THROUGH MAY 1
  • Late registration is possible provided uniforms are available. Please contact Rick Winter at (415) 244-3863 for late registration.

What if I Play Another Sport?

It is possible for student-athletes to participate in the NBBA Travel Season while playing another spring sport. However, NBBA requires the student-athlete to meet the following requirements:

  • Student-athletes must attend at least 1 practice per week and 8 of the 12 games.

Given the fact the costs for the team remain constant, the dues for the season remain the same.

NBBA Coaching Staff

The vast majority of NBBA coaches are current or former North Bay varsity, assistant varsity, junior varsity or freshman coaches, as well as former college/pro players.

Parents are not allowed to coach their child in the NBBA program.

NBBA Coaching Assignments (Tentative):

  • Jacob Nunez – Former Varsity Coach North Bay Christian School
  • Tony Bacich – NBBA Coach
  • Kyle Winter – NBBA Coach
  • Zach Silva – Team Manager @ St. Mary's College

Practices / Team Placement

All practices are scheduled in advance and players are expected to attend practices. Teams will normally practice twice per week for 90 minutes. Every effort will be made to follow practice schedules as closely as possible, however, things happen. Please be flexible and cooperative when practice schedules need to be changed.

As there are school activities and other commitments, which may conflict with practice from time to time, coaches will work with players and parents individually in those cases. To emphasize player responsibility, the player (and not the parent) who will miss a practice is expected to notify the coach ahead of time that he will miss practice and the reason why. Program basketball players are expected to commit themselves to a rigorous practice schedule, and their team depends on them to do so. Playing time will be affected by unexcused absences or tardiness.

Practice Schedule: June 12 – July 23

  • 3rd / 4th / 5th Grade:
    • Tues/Thurs. 5:00 – 6:30pm @ St. Vincent's Church
  • 6th / 7th Grade:
    • Mon./Wed. 7:30 – 9:00pm @ St. Vincent's Church

8th Graders (going into 9th grade) will be playing for their high schools during the summer.

Every effort will be made to follow practice schedules as closely as possible, however, things happen. Please be flexible and cooperative when practice schedules need to be changed.
